The clients’ objective was a timeless yet contemporary home, one that embraced the benefits of good health and orderly design for a busy family. Lots of smart storage was needed, with places for appliances to be tucked away when not in use, and a serene palette of soft green with dark green complements and contrasting timber for warmth.
The island bench is the largest size possible without a join, giving space for the cook and for the kids to sit opposite while they do their homework. Muuto pendants hang over the island, and a Muuto wall dot, matched to the exact colour of the pendants, is the handle to the walk-in pantry.
We dubbed it a “wellness” kitchen for its green accents, its smart storage and joinery that lets the space be closed off from view when required, which leads to a sense of order and calm, even if the washing up is yet to be done.
